Final – FT – MTFC U17 1-1 Hamilton Accies – Savage – MTFC U17’s win 11-10 on pens

What a tournament for the U17’s chock full of so many good moments, this was a team of lads who simply refused to quit and that was personified when Jordan Pierrepont bagged a last min equaliser to keep them in it, well done to all of team MTFC U17’s who have earned the right to call themselves Blackpool Cup U17 Champions!

U18’s

A fantastic run for the U18’s that saw them get all the way up to the final beating one of the favourites in Blackpool FC on the way, not once but twice, these lads can hold their heads high and be proud of their achievements, well done to MTFC U18’s!

U19’s

Semi Final – FT – Poulton Town 0-1 MTFC U19’s – OG
Final – FT – MTFC U18 0-3 MTFC U19 – Wroot (2) and Ludlow

MTFC U19’s beat club mates MTFC U18’s in a fantastic final that shone a spotlight on the level of youth talent the club and saw them overcome some strong challengers on the way. Well done to MTFC U19’s, your new Blackpool Cup U19’s champions!

Final Thoughts

What an achievement all round, all three teams got to their respective final and the Blackpool Cup U17 and U19 trophies are coming back to Derbyshire. We want to congratulate every player and coach who went to Blackpool and did the Gladiators proud, enjoy your moment!

We want to send our best wishes to academy player Aiden McAdam who fractured his eye socket during the Friday game against Whitley Bay U21’s, have a speedy recovery and we hope to see you back in blue soon!
