After a busy summer for the development staff and the re structuring of the foundations lead by Head of Development Steve Heath. We look forward to the coming season within our Clubs Development System.

Matlock Town FC Development Manager Justin Tellus said ‘ After a successful season last year where we saw our development management team lay down the foundations. We now look forward to building on the hard work already achieved in the coming season. We saw the Academy and Reserves sides do well in there respective leagues along with the launch of the supporting ADS side that this season will play in the MRA. The professional mentality adopted helped us obtain positive results, even against football league sides which was evident in the winning of the Euro Sporting Cup in two categories. We will be starting our pre season training next week with the Development Squad followed by the Academy Squad on the 18th of July. Head Coach Jamie Yates and his hard working team will be getting the lads ready for the coming season and have some high profile friendlies within the schedule to look forward to including AFC Wimbledon, Sheffield United, Burton Albion and Grimsby Town FC. Our aim is to produce and support young players to achieve the required level with a pathway to our first team. While with the successful emergence of Jack Siddall last season as well as some of our players moving onto league clubs shows we are moving in the right direction. We would like to thank the first team management of Glenn Kirkwood and Craig Hopkins for their continued support, as well as the hard working committee members within the club as we look forward to an exciting season ahead’.
