SIMON BARRACLOUGH
Striker who joined Matlock at the start of the 2003/04 season following his release by Rotherham United. Simon has great close control and a nifty turn of speed, proving to be a real threat to opposing defences. |
 |
STEVE TAYLOR
Striker who was Town’s leading scorer in both 2000/01 and 2001/02. An aggressive hard working player who in his early days at Matlock, was averaging a goal nearly every two games. Steve deservedly won the fans and players player of the year awards in 2000/01. Released by both Chesterfield and Mansfield Town, he joined Matlock from South Normanton Athletic in March 2000.Unfortunately injuries have restricted his appearances in the last couple of seasons, but he remains a vital and popular member of the squad.

DENE CROPPER
Dene joined Matlock in September 2005 for an undisclosed fee. He began his career with Sheffield Wednesday but was released to join Lincoln City where he made 36 first team appearances including a play off final against Bournemouth at the Millennium Stadium. After a knee injury he had a short spell at Boston United before joining Worksop at the start of the 2004/05 campaign. Unfortunately a cruciate ligament injury forced Dene to miss the whole of last season but after a good pre season, he is hoping to be back this term. |
