New Gladiators manager Dave Frecklington has wasted no time in shuffling his pack, making three additions before tomorrow’s home game against South Shields (3PM kick off).
Firstly, a familiar face to Gladiators fans is the return of thirty-five-year-old Cleveland Taylor makes his return to The Proctor Cars Stadium. Cleveland is a vastly experienced defender or midfielder making over four hundred appearances for the likes of Bolton Wanderers, Scunthorpe United, Carlise United, Brentford FC and Burton Albion. Cleveland has a good non-league pedigree as well playing for the likes of Grimsby Town, Harrogate Town, Corby Town, Barwell FC, Coalville Town and Stamford AFC. Cleveland previously played for the Gladiators in the 16/17 before making the move to Coalville Town where he would make over fifty appearances before joining promotion chasing Stamford AFC where he has played every game so far this season.
Secondly, another player from The Daniels to join the Gladiators is twenty-one-year-old Taron Hare. The versatile defender has previously played for York City, Boston United, North Ferriby United and Gainsborough Trinity in the Vanarama National League North before deciding to make the move to Stamford AFC in the 18/19 season and becoming a big core of their backline.
Finally, Tom Davie makes the move to the Gladiators from Cleethorpes Town. The 22-year old left sided player started off his youth career at Dagenham & Redbridge, before playing for Gainsborough Trinity, North Ferriby United, Bradford Park Avenue, Darlington and once again Gainsborough Trinity last term.
Taylor, Hare and Davie all go into tomorrows squad which should see Craig Westcarr make his home debut as well.
