What a difference a week makes in football. 3 games played 2 wins and 1 draw,a clean sheet and 7 points. We also moved out of the relegation zone last night. So positives a plenty.
We ain’t getting carried away by any stretch of the imagination however we feel we’re making good progress. We are in transition and that takes time, ideally 6 weeks of pre-season but we’re in real time and having to get results on the job.
The squad are becoming familiar with each other and starting to understand how one another work. Alongside that there’s a bit of belief that we can go toe to toe with teams and be super competitive.
We’ve worked on our organisation and structure in and out of possession and focused on set pieces. To score off one last night was testimony to the hard work Terry Chris and the players have put in on the grass in training.
The turn over of players has settled down and while we’re always looking to add to the group we feel stability is key over the next few week.
The most pleasing aspect of late has been the work ethic,it’s very infectious when we hunt in packs and get about the opposition. You can’t cheat the game and I’m a big believer in the harder you work the luckier you get, after all it doesn’t cost a penny to run.
A big test awaits us on Saturday at Warrington and in my opinion it’ll be a marker in how far away we are or how close we are in our progression.
Once again I’d like to thank all the support we’ve received during the last two home games. We’ve been made very welcome and it means a lot.
Keep getting behind the players it makes a real difference and hopefully it’s the start of good things to come.
