Matlock Town is pleased to announce the dual registration signing of twenty six year old forward Paul “Charlie” Ennis from Curzon Ashton.

Ennis, who is commonly known as Charlie in football, joined the Nash after leaving Hednesford Town, where he featured in the 2015/16 season.

He comes with a host of experience for the National League North level after starting his career at Stockport County in the Football League, before dropping into the non-league game.

He has featured for Droylsden, Colwyn Bay, Guiseley and Stalybridge Celtic – all during their time in the Conference North.

His performances for Stalybridge saw him claim their Player of the Season award in 2013/14 and was their top goalscorer in 2014/15, before moving on to Hednesford.

This season, Ennis has played twenty six times for the Nash while scoring five goals and can be used either as an out and out striker, a winger or as an attacking midfielder.
