Phil Brown

PHIL BROWN

Appointed as joint  player manager with Gareth Williams in July 2004 after previous incumbent Ernie Moss left to join Hucknall Town.. Phil joined the Gladiators in July 2002 from Gainsborough Trinity. Equally adept in either midfield or attack, Phil played in the Football League with Chesterfield, Lincoln City and Stockport County before serving Boston United and Kettering Town prior to his move to Gainsborough.Popular with the Gladiators fans, Phil led Matlock to a League Cup Final victory with Williams in his first sesson in charge.

Gareth Williams

GARETH WILLIAMS

Appointed as joint player manager with Phil Brown in July 2004. Striker/midfielder with over 400 Football league and Conference appearances under his belt. His list of previous clubs reads Aston Villa, Barnsley, Northampton Town, Scarborough (twice), and Hull City. He joined Matlock at the start of the 2002/03 season from Gainsborough Trinity after previously being with Ilkeston Town. Has proved to be a very astute signing, and capped a great first season in management by leading the Gladiators to a League Cup Final win with colleague Phil Brown.

Andy Richmond

ANDY RICHMOND

Andy is a 22 year old goalkeeper signed in March 2005 following his release by Chesterfield. Won a League Cup winners medal after less than a month with the Gladiators and is now a hugely popular figure at the Geoquip Stadium.
