Matlock Town are pleased to announce that thirty eight year old goalkeeping coach and Gladiators favourite Adam Sollitt has joined the clubs coaching staff as the final part of the jigsaw for our backroom team.

Adam began his playing career in 1995 and had a career that took in teams like Barnsley FC, Gainsborough Trinty, Kettering Town, Northampton Town, Rushden and Diamonds, Scarborough FC, Morecambe FC and Worksop Town before joining the Gladiators in the 2009/2010 season making the number one shirt his own and in his three years and eighty six appearances he became a fan favourite before having to depart the club due to increased work commitments.

Adam’s role at the club will be as goalkeeper coaching using his knowledge and experience to work with our goalkeepers.

Management duo Hopkins and Kirkwood had the follow to say on the appointment “”it’s great to have Adam on board, it was important we got someone knowledgeable, experienced, and someone who we can trust 100% and knows the club. We very much look forward to working with him.”
