Matlock Town FC are pleased to announce the signing of twenty two year old striker Jordan Ball from Gresley FC and eighteen year old defender Ashley Bartle from Chesterfield FC

Jordan has scored fourteen goals in all competitions this season and has made forty three appearances for the Moatmen after his switch from Swedish team Ånge IF.

He began his career with Doncaster Rovers and went on to play for Belper Town (loan), FC Halifax Town, Rainworth Miners Welfare and Mickleover Sports.

Ashley is a local boy who began playing for Matlock Town Juniors FC from where he would get snapped up and put on a contract by the Spireites in January 2014 and he joined them full time after leaving Highfields School in Matlock. Ashley has represented Derbyshire at school level and currently is captain of the Spireites U21 developmental side and joins us on a dual registration deal so he can continue playing for them.

Sadly, departing is Jake Orrell as Chesterfield FC have had to recall the young striker into their squad and it is unlikely he will be available to us for the remainder of the season. We would like to thank Jake for his time with us and wish him all the best for the future.
