Are you leaving school this summer or about to complete your first year of college? Do you want to study, train and play football full time for a semi-professional club at a football academy that is an alternative to going to college?

The Matlock Town Academy are hosting trials in the forthcoming half term holidays for anyone aged 16-18 (on September 1st 2016) who wants to progress with their education and develop their football from September 2016.

Tuesday 31st May, 5pm – 7pm at Cavendish Playing Fields, Cavendish Road, Matlock (Grass pitch)

The Academy has been a major success in its first year with our partners the NPL Football Academy. The team led by Jamie Yates finished runners up in the league, won the prestigious Blackpool Cup Tournament at Easter and Lewis Brown became the clubs first football graduate when he made his debut for the first team as a seventeen year old at Stamford in February. More success on the football side of the programme followed when Brown and Josh Middleton were voted onto the NPL Football Academy ‘Team of the Year’ in April. Corey Bulheller, Max Hunt and Sammy Hawes have also been selected to take part in the NPL Football Academy inter-league team in games against professional football clubs Oldham Athletic and Accrington Stanley.
