MARDLE NIGHT NOW SOLD OUT

Matlock Town FC are pleased to announce that the evening with Wayne Mardle is now a SELL OUT. We are sure this will be one of the best nights ever had at Matlock Town FC and look forward to Welcoming Wayne in the near future.

Details of the evening

Professional darts player Wayne Mardle, affectionately known as ‘Hawaii 501’ is to hold an exhibition of darts at the Gladiators Social Club on Friday 28th March 2008. This is a rare chance to see, and possibly play against, one of the most popular players on the Professional Darts Corporation circuit.

Darts’ popularity has never been higher, with most tournaments now selling-out large arenas, but with this it is very difficult to see their talents at close-quarters. In confirming his appearance, Wayne is well-known for his high-spirited on-stage activity, flamboyant Hawaiian shirts and palm-tree waving fans and said that his exhibitions are all based around having a fun time. Mardle can currently be seen on Sky Sports in this year’s PDC World Championships and is already through to the ¼ final at the Alexandra Palace, where he is due to meet Phil ‘The Power‘ Taylor. Mardle will be hoping to go further than the three semi-final appearances in the 2004,5 and 6 World Championships.

Hosting the event will be another darts personality - George Noble aka “The Puppy” who can also been seen, but mostly heard at all the major PDC darts events as referee and master of ceremonies. The night will see Mardle play sixteen legs against local people and players and both he and Noble will answer questions about their careers and what it is like on the darts circuit. All monies raised on the night will go to Matlock Town FC.

Some of the legs against Wayne Mardle are available for purchase on a first-come first-served basis priced £25, which will include a signed photo from the evening, others will be available via an auction and raffle. Tickets for the exhibition are available priced at £10 for a reserved-seated area, including at-table bar service, whilst the remaining areas of the Social Club are priced at £5.
