Matlock Town are pleased to announce the signings of twenty four year old defender Dwayne Wiley and twenty one year old midfield Jake Green both formally of Mickleover Sports and the retention of midfielders thirty one year old Laurie Wilson and twenty six year old Ted Cribley.
Wiley began his career at local rivals Buxton FC before making the move to Heanor Town where he would first link up with Hopkins and Kirkwood becoming a trusted member of the management duo’s squad and moving with them to Mickleover Sports.
Green began his career at Mansfield Town where he would play alongside his brother Matt, before a move to Bristol Rovers where he stayed until the club lost their football league status in 2013/2014. A move to Kidderminster Harriers followed in the Vanarama National league where he would make thirty six appearances until a move to Mickleover Sports midway through last season.
Remaining with the club is popular midfield duo Laurie Wilson and Ted Cribley. Wilson joined the club in October of last season and would go on to become a vital part of the club jigsaw on the pitch scoring ten goals in total and filling in at defence with some fantastic performances. Cribley had a loan spell with the club from Barrow AFC in the 2014/2015 season before joining us permanently last season and making his mark on the side with some eye catching performances.
We will have the managers thoughts on these signings later on this evening in Ian Richardson’s weekly press release.
