Gladiators appoint School Liason Officer and Community Support Officer

We would like to welcome on board Graeme Corker who undertakes the role of School Liaison Officer and welcome back Bryan Owen who will undertake the role.

Below is Graeme's role in his own words:-

School Liaison Officer

  • I will be visiting 38 local schools in the Matlock, Bakewell, Wirksworth area inviting Year 6 Pupils to attend a home game this season
  • Bring 1 Parent with each pupil + 3 or 3 Teachers
  • Tour of Stadium including meeting players for autograph’s and players
  • Walk on the Pitch (Weather permitting)
  • Each pupil to receive a Souvenir of the day

The aim is to build up a relationship between Matlock Town FC and the local school community and the Introduction of a “JUNIOR GLADIATOR” Membership Club

Also scouting the schools for any talent for the local junior teams and working closely with Bryan Owen and local Junior Football

Below is Bryan's role in his own words:-

Community Support Officer

"Matlock Town FC holds its tradition of being a family club, with that in mind we want to promote its openness to all our local youth groups and to explore how we can grow in terms of providing better links within the community.

We want to achieve clear lines of contact and reference to those wishing to join us on a matchday and improve the experience that we can offer.

I will be working with all junior grassroots football teams within the area, forming strong links with existing partner clubs and hoping to create new opportunities for others.

Of course, you do not have to be in a football team to visit Matlock Town FC. We are just as happy to welcome all individuals and groups who wish to come and see what we have to offer.

I will be attending football matches at all levels within the area and helping to promote the club. Hopefully watching local talent who could eventually go on to play for Matlock Town Football Club."
