Gladiators at the double as duo sign

Matlock Town is pleased to announce the signings of thirty year old forward Jake Day formally of Scarborough Athletic and twenty three year old goalkeeper Jim Pollard formally of Grantham Town.

Day is a 6'3 forward with a talent for goals joining the Seadogs for a fee from Guiseley AFC. During his time at Bridlington Town in Jan 2017. Day scored a whopping 85 goals in 107 games for Brid, a spell and statistics which saw him link back up with then manager Curtis Woodhouse before they both made the move to Tadcaster Albion. Short spells with Alfreton Town and Guiseley AFC followed before he rejoined Scarborough where he remained until the conclusion of the 21/22 season.

Goalkeeper Pollard joins from Grantham Town whom he joined in July 2020 from Maltby Main, having previously had a season at Barrow and a spell with Sheffield United as a youngster. He is known for his safe hands and quick distribution. An incredible double save by Pollard during a match for Maltby Main was spotlighted by the BBC Sport Website.

Manager Paul Phillips was pleased to get both signings over the line as he continues to plan for the 22/23 season.
