Gladiators confirm two more pre-season away trips

Matlock Town have two more away pre season friendly matches fixed up and hope to soon be able to release details of their home warm up games.

To add to the games against Northwich Victoria on Saturday 9 July at Witton Albion’s U Lock It Stadium and at Macclesfield on Tuesday 19 July, the Gladiators will also travel to Ramsbottom United on Tuesday 26 July (7.45pm) and Carlton Town on Saturday 6 August.

Ramsbottom currently ply their trade in the NPL Western Division, finishing in 15th spot last term. They have recently had two seasons in the NPL Premier Division, falling away after a bright start in 2014/15 to end in mid-table before a bottom placed finish in the following season saw them relegated.

Carlton will next season be in the Eastern Division after narrowly missing out on a play-off place in the Midlands Division of the NPL last season. Matlock last visited the Nottingham club in the FA Trophy during 2019/20 when a Jordan Sinnott penalty and a strike from Luke Hinsley, both before half time, proved to be enough as the Gladiators won 2-1.

The trip to Stoke Lane is likely to be Matlock’s final warm up match before the 2022/23 NPL season gets under way a week later on Saturday August 13.
