Gladiators draw home tie in Isuzu FA Trophy 3QR

Matlock Town have been handed a home tie in the 3rd Qualifying Round of the Isuzuuk FA Trophy with NPL Midlands Division Sutton Coldfield Town visiting the Proctor Cars Stadium on Saturday 8 October.

The Royals are currently in tenth position, having won three and lost four games out of seven so far but to reach this stage they have overcome fancied NPL Eastern Division Grantham Town before following it up with an even more impressive result on Saturday, beating Halesowen Town 2-0, top of the table Halesowen having an unblemished record so far in the same division.

Matlock will be hoping for another good run in the Trophy as within the last ten years they have played much better in this competition than the FA Cup, beating the likes of Mansfield Town, FC Halifax, Solihull Moors and Chorley, three of whom were in the National League at the time.

But this time the boot is on the other foot and Matlock will want to make home advantage count.
