Gladiators game against Whitby Town gets early kick off

Matlock Town’s NPL Premier Division clash at Whitby Town on Saturday is one of a number of games that will have an early kick off in light of England's World Cup quarter final tie with France on Saturday evening.

The game at the Towbar Express Stadium will now get under way at 1 pm and not the originally scheduled start time of 3 pm.

“We think this is the best for everyone as it gives our fans and also our players, staff and management the chance to watch the game at Whitby and be then back home in time to watch England. We’d like to thank Whitby Town for their co-operation and swift response to our request. The England match will be on live in the Shorts Lounge with the usual refreshments available and we’d like to see as many of you as possible up at Whitby and in the Shorts Lounge cheering on both the Gladiators and the 3 Lions” said a Matlock spokesman.

Supporters can travel to Whitby by coach leaving the Proctor Cars Stadium at 8am.
