Gladiators Mental Health Officer Liam Hudson set to launch

Matlock Town is pleased to announce that in association with our club Mental Health Officer Liam Hudson, the formation of the "Gladiators Mentality" group.

Liam, who has faced his own battles with mental health, had the following to say about the new group's mission statement "Gladiator Mentality is going to be a new mental health support group brought to life by Matlock Town Football Club. The initial aim is to create a support and social group, based around the club on match days, to help and encourage local people to seek help and support for mental health issues, depression, anxiety and loneliness. We aim to be an open, honest and safe place for people to discuss problems, offer opinions, seek support and create relationships.

Another avenue we will be exploring is to arrange social meetings away from the club, based around a healthy lifestyle, and mainly in the local area."

We will speak more to Liam about his own journey with mental health, his plans for Gladiators Mentality in the near future. As a club, we are very proud of Liam and his desire to help others and to break the stigma around mental health in our community.

If you, or anyone you know, needs help dealing with mental health problems, the following organisations provide support:
