JOB ADVERT: Digital Content & Marketing Manager

Matlock Town are looking to recruit a full-time member of staff to work across our social media and marketing operations.
The role will heavily involve social media content creation, website marketing, e-commerce and web development.
With an ambitious owner and board of directors, imminent substantial stadium improvements, an excellent playing squad along with a rapidly growing supporter base, Matlock Town FC are looking for a creative and driven digial content and marketing manager to help elevate our online presence, tell our story, and showcase our quality on both social media and our company websites
Role Overview
You will be responsible for creating, managing, and growing our digital footprint across social media platforms and our websites. This includes producing engaging photo and video content from our projects, highlighting our products and services, and maintaining a consistent brand tone and aesthetic. You’ll work closely with the club’s owner, directors, general manager and media team.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, create, and schedule high-quality content (photos, videos, reels, stories, blog posts etc) across all social media channels — including Instagram, X, Facebook, TikTok, and LinkedIn.
Help to maintain and develop the club website.
Write engaging posts and descriptions that reflect our professional yet personable tone.
Manage and grow social media engagement through regular posting, interaction, and use of trending formats.
Design and maintain branded templates for posts, stories, and highlights packages.
Collaborate with the directors and media team on marketing campaigns and website updates.
Analyse performance data to refine strategy and boost engagement and reach.
Manage a content calendar to ensure consistent and strategic posting.
Liaising with club sponsors to maximise their media exposure through our channels.
Skills & Experience
Applicants must have relevant experience in similar roles.
Proven experience in social media management, videography, photography, or content creation, ideally in a football environment.
Being skilled in photo and video editing software is desirable (e.g. Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, CapCut, Lightroom, Canva).
Excellent copywriting and communication skills.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Confident visiting football stadiums and streaming live events.
Knowledge of social media algorithms, analytics, and growth strategies.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience managing business social media accounts.
Familiarity with SEO, hashtags, and paid social campaigns.
Driving licence
Experience within a similar role would be advantageous.
A creative and enthusiastic ‘can do’ attitude.
Very strong administration and organisational skills.
Effective project management skills.
Sound understanding or marketing principles.
Strong copy writing skills.
Computer proficient with relevant computer packages and marketing tools.
Working effectively and cooperatively as a member of the team and assisting colleagues as necessary.
Any other duties or responsibilities that may reasonably be required from time to time
*This is not a role suitable for remote or hybrid working. The job role is based in Matlock, Derbyshire and will involve working five days per week, including all Saturdays during the football season and some midweek evenings.
