Jon joined Matlock for a second spell during the summer after a successful spell at Stamford where he played a prominent part in Stamford winning the NPL Midlands Division title. He was the division’s Golden Boot winner netting 33 times in league games and was also named as the divisional player of the season. He started out at Hull City before featuring at Cambridge United, Tranmere Rovers, Lincoln City and Scunthorpe United with loan spells at a number of non league sides. He was with Boston United, Gainsborough Trinity, Frickley and Belper Town prior to being at Stamford. His first spell at Matlock was on loan from Boston United in the latter part of the 2018/19 campaign.
