McHale makes Matlock move

Craig Elliott has made a second addition to his Matlock Town squad in attacking midfielder Dominic McHale who has arrived at the Proctor Cars Stadium on loan from NPL Premier Division rivals Radcliffe.
The 26 year old started his career in the academy at Manchester City before joining Barnsley on an eighteen month contract in February 2014.
The Tykes released him at the end of his contract and he went on to play for Ramsbottom United and Northwich Victoria before moving to Cypriot Third Division outfit Achyronas Liopetriou, scoring three goals in ten appearances.
On his return to the UK he joined Salford City in 2017/18 after a successful trial, having loan spells at Trafford and Hyde United before joining Ashton United and FC United of Manchester.
He then joined League Two Oldham Athletic in August 2019 but was released shortly afterwards , his travels then taking him to Romford, South Shields and a second spell at Ashton.
McHale then had a more rewarding stay at National League North AFC Telford, netting six goals in 34 appearances before moving to Darlington on loan towards the end of last season. He signed for Radcliffe in the summer and played in Matlock’s 1-0 defeat at the Neuven Stadium in August.
Elliott is expected to include McHale in Matlock’s squad for the clash at Guiseley tonight.
