Murphy and Whelan join the Gladiators from Chesterfield FC

Matlock Town is pleased to announce the signings of Irish duo nineteen year old forward Kallan Murphy and twenty year old midfielder Leigh Whelan from Chesterfield FC subject to FA and NPL approval.

Kallan moved to England to take part in Chesterfield FC's football and education programme and has featured for the Spireites U19's and U21's.

Leigh progressed through three teams in Ireland and made it to a League of Ireland team for the past two-and-a-half-years prior to joining Chesterfield FC and had a spell out on loan with Sheffield FC last season.
