NEWS XTRA | Arrangements for Chesterfield FC fixture

Matlock Town take on Chesterfield at the Proctor Cars Stadium on Wednesday night in the always eagerly awaited pre season friendly that is back after the Covid 19 outbreak forced it to be off both club’s calendars last season.
With a bumper crowd expected and it being pay on the gate, supporters are advised to arrive early to ensure the smooth entry of spectators into the ground.
Catering facilities will be open inside the ground including the Shorts Lounge, but fans should be aware that no drinks can be taken outside The Shorts Lounge in accordance with the law established in 1985.
Matlock have therefore had to amend their arrangements somewhat and fans will have access to two bars inside the club.
Gladiators Chairman Bryn Apperley said,
“We appreciate that a lot of fans like to stand and watch the game with a refreshing drink from the club but we require fans to stay inside with their drinks as the police have made clear this is the law to us. I’m sure everyone will understand, we hope they have a great night’s football in what should be an exciting game.”
