Rams recall Cybulski after National League interest

Derby County have recalled striker Bartosz Cybulski from his loan at Matlock Town after the Polish attacker was wanted by National League Solihull Moors.

The paperwork was completed on Thursday after discussions between Matlock boss Craig Elliott and Rams Academy Manager Darren Wassall.

Cybulski’s second month on loan with the Gladiators was due to end soon, the Pole having joined Matlock in October scoring on his debut in the 2-1 win at Warrington Rylands.

It proved to be his only goal for Town in six appearances.

Elliott wanted to keep Cybulski but could understand the reasoning behind the recall.

“I’m disappointed to lose Bart but that’s part of the deal when you bring in loan players that they can leave and be recalled very quickly. I’m also pleased for him that he’s got the chance to go test himself in the National League. I thank him for his time here and wish him well.”
