Gladiators extend Church loan

Matlock Town boss Martin Carruthers says he is “absolutely delighted” to have secured the extended loan of striker Eddie Church from Bradford (Park Avenue) for another month.

Church scored three times in three league games for the Gladiators in his initial month on loan at the Proctor Cars Stadium.

“I’m absolutely delighted to have got this deal across the line. To be honest I knew very little about him when I arrived but he got the two goals in my first match in charge against Belper and has looked really sharp. I really like the look of him, he’s got a great attitude. It was hard for him at Gainsborough as he didn’t really get the service he needs given the circumstances of the game but I’m looking forward to working with him more now and hopefully he can get us some more goals .”

Church will be again included in the squad to face Morpeth Town tomorrow (3pm).
