Gladiators sign Belgian winger Zottos

Matlock Town are pleased to announce the signing of 21-year-old Belgian winger Basile Zottos from Ossett United.

Basile began his career with Sheffield Wednesday, where he played for the Owls' U18 and U21 sides before switching to non-league football and making the move to Ossett United.

Following a brief spell with Ossett, Basile would move to Sheffield FC, playing under current Gladiators boss Ryan Cresswell, with his form during the 22/23 season impressing Ilkeston FC who made the move for him during the summer of the 23/24 season.

Then followed brief spells at Liversedge FC under Gladiators assistant manager John Rimmington, Stocksbridge Park Steels, Hallam FC and Brighouse Town.

In September of the 24/25 season, Basile joined Ossett United with the pacy winger going on to score seven times in 18 appearances for The Sheepicorns with his impressive form earning him a move to the Gladiators and a chance to link up with his former gaffer.
