Gladiators sign Degruchy from Doncaster

We are delighted to announce the signing attacking midfielder Jack Degruchy on loan from League Two side Doncaster Rovers.

Degruchy, 21, began his career at York City before moving to Doncaster in July 2022, making his league debut against Bradford City in League Two, the first of three first team appearances for Rovers.

He is the third Doncaster player to join Town on loan this season. Striker Jack Goodman lasted 44 minutes in his opening game at Whitby before being forced off with a season-ending metatarsal injury while Tavonga Kuleya has made a promising start, scoring in the 5-1 home defeat to Whitby last weekend.

Kuleya and Degruchy spent time together on loan at FC United of Manchester and Marske United with Degruchy also being loaned out to Southern League Premier Central Kettering Town in January 2024.

Atkins, who lives close to Doncaster, says De Gruchy could be an important player for the Gladiators.

He said: “I’ve heard some very good things about Jack and he’s definitely one for the future, we need to get him to fulfil the undoubted potential he has”.

Degruchy’s Matlock debut could come in Saturday’s home meeting with play-off chasing Marine.
