Henderson makes dual-reg move to Eastwood CFC
Young Matlock winger Ben Henderson will be spending time at United Counties League Eastwood Community, joining the Nottinghamshire side on a dual registration agreement.
At present John Johnston and Nat Crofts are occupying the wide attacking positions and with Archie White and Alex Duhameasu also vying for a place on the wing when they return from injury, Henderson is currently down the pecking order at the Proctor Cars Stadium.
The move is designed to give Henderson more game time in a competitive division and manager Martin Carruthers says it should aid his development.
“Ben’s opportunities are limited at present, he wants and needs to play games so it’s good to be able to get him out to get some minutes, some games and general match fitness. We’ll keep an eye on him in the coming weeks to see how he’s progressing.”
Henderson joined Matlock from Eastwood last season and has also been with the Gladiators under 21 squad. He is expected to be included in the Eastwood squad for tomorrow’s match with Belper United.
