Matlock Town Football Club are a vibrant and active club playing within the Northern Premier League. We also have a competitive ladies team, U21 squad and strong junior section.

The first team attract an average of 800 fans per game and have a purpose-built bar and social club for events and match days.

The room holds up to 300 people and is a perfect location for wedding receptions, parties, funerals and other social and corporate events.

We also have a tea bar serving hot food and the addition of temporary catering outlets when required.

We are looking for Hospitality Supervisors to oversee our bar and catering facilities. The role will include:

  • Booking Coordination: Handle all booking enquiries and reservations, balancing the needs of first team with the hospitality side of our business.
  • The planning and execution of club events, including match days and social functions.
  • Managing and overseeing events on the day they take place, including problem-solving, welcoming guests and directing event set-up, communicating with staff, and organising suppliers/caterers.
  • Manage the catering contractor, bar and cleaning teams to ensure our hospitality meets expectations and the clubhouse and all facilities are maintained, clean and presentable at all times.
  • Leading the team including recruitment and rotas
  • Manage stock control and ordering
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local businesses and suppliers

As a Supervisor we would like you to have:

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in the hospitality industry, ideally in clubhouse management (preferred)
  • Driving licence and car
  • Numerate
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings and bank holidays
  • Proactive & Enthusiastic, with a problem-solving aptitude
  • Ability to manage and motivate staff and create a good team atmosphere.
  • Outstanding communication (verbal and written) and organisation skills
  • Exceptional customer service, with the ability to handle difficult situations, including complaints, with professionalism and tact.
  • Knowledge of football or sports club operations would be advantageous.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Personal License Holder (preferred)
  • First Aider (preferred)
