Boateng makes Gladiators loan move

Matlock Town are pleased to announce the three-month loan signing of 25-year-old defender/midfielder Kwame Boateng from Chorley FC subject to NPL and FA approval.

Kwame came through the youth ranks with Bradford City over a four-year period. He then made the move to Harrogate Town in the 2018-19 season, eventually moving permanently to Guiseley AFC.

A spell out on loan followed with Farsley Celtic to round out that season, a move that turned permanent, before, again, spending time out on loan at other clubs.

He would then play for The New Saints in the Welsh Premier League before signing with Sheffield Wednesday to play in their under-23 side.

Kwame re-joined Guiseley in September of 2022, making 29 appearances in that season before moving on to fellow National League North side, Alfreton Town, along with Grantham Town and Liversedge to round out the 2023/24 season.

He joined current club Chorley FC this summer on trial, doing enough in pre-season to earn himself a deal and having already spent August out on loan at Liversedge, Kwame will now join Cresswell's Gladiators.

Welcome to the club, Kwame!
