Carruthers & Hallcro rewarded with new deals
Matlock Town management duo Martin Carruthers and Wayne Hallcro could not hide their excitement as they accepted the opportunity to make a commitment that will keep them at the Proctor Cars Stadium for as long as the club wants them.
Following their first half season with the Gladiators which saw them finish in fifth spot and qualify for the end of season play-offs, Carruthers and Hallcro met with Chairman Jay Beaumont with stability being the keyword after a campaign which saw Matlock have three managers.
“Wayne and myself are absolutely delighted to have been given the opportunity to commit our long term future to the Gladiators. It’s been an amazing five months and the whole experience has been fantastic. I have a fantastic relationship with Jay and we want to build something special at this club long term. Everything about the place is special and we feel that consistency and longevity is key in achieving long term success at the club and build on what we’ve achieved in such a short space of time. The fantastic supporters and staff at this club have backed us throughout and we now want to build something special and exciting over the next few years. We’re both really excited and looking forward to continued success.”
The Gladiators Chairman praised the efforts of Carruthers and Hallcro to date.
“I’m delighted that Martin and Wayne have committed themselves to our great club. Since their arrival in December they have had a very positive impact on the club in many ways. For me, stability is a critical element of long term success and we are all very much aligned on what we want to build over the coming years.”
